The consultation, which runs until 15 September 2026, gives residents, families, young people, partners and local organisations the opportunity to share their views before any decision is made.
The proposed new location at The Amelia Scott is approximately a ten-minute walk from the current Family Hub and would allow services to continue to be delivered from a central and accessible town centre location.

Family Hubs provide a range of support for children, young people and families, including parenting courses, baby massage, support groups, wellbeing services, information and advice, and access to partner organisations. Under the proposal, these services would continue to be available to local residents.
The move would provide larger, more flexible and accessible spaces for families, improve opportunities for organisations to work together, and help make better use of public buildings while reducing the ongoing costs associated with maintaining the current Grove Hill Road site.

The current Family Hub building at 39a Grove Hill Road is a converted Victorian property that has limited space and accessibility challenges, including no lift access to the first floor. The building restricts the range of services that can be offered and may have costly future maintenance requirements.
By contrast, The Amelia Scott is an accessible community building offering step-free access, lifts to all floors, improved facilities and larger flexible spaces that could support a broader Family Hub offer and improved partnership working.

"Family Hubs play an important role in supporting children, young people and families across Kent. We want to make sure that services in Tunbridge Wells continue to meet local needs and remain accessible for the people who rely on them.
"The proposed move to The Amelia Scott will offer improved facilities, greater accessibility and more opportunities to deliver services alongside partners, while keeping support in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.
"No decision has been made yet and we are keen to hear from everyone who may be affected. I would encourage residents, families, staff, partners and community organisations to take part in the consultation and share their views."
