Three sets of targeted sessions were set up, funded by UK Government, to encourage people to use technology to manage their health, be better equipped with digital skills for the world of work and staying safe online.
Additionally, 51 laptops were leant to participants most in need of practical help to access the internet.
The three workshops focused on building awareness of the technology that is out there, encouraging hands-on participation of methods to stay safe and boosting confidence.
More than 40 sessions were delivered to more than 250 residents.
There was also plenty of opportunities for participants to raise questions, discuss concerns and take advantage of follow-up support.
The scheme was funded by the Digital Inclusion Innovation Fund from the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology, following a successful bid from KCC’s Financial Hardship Programme to upskill Kent residents.

KCC’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Special Projects, David Wimble, said: “I am really pleased that we have been able to run these workshops, helping more than 250 residents to understand how using the internet can enhance their lives.
“From being confident online to knowing how to access help from their GP, our digital skills sessions have helped to promote the advantages of technology in a world where it’s more important than ever to be safe online.”
The workshop ran for five months from November 2025 up until the end of March 2026.
