Thousands of people who qualify for a free COVID-19 vaccination this spring can now make their appointment.

The NHS booking system is open, with appointments available from Tuesday, 1 April to Tuesday, 17 June 2025.

Those eligible will also receive an invitation from the NHS to encourage them to top up their protection.

This includes:

  • adults aged 75 years and over
  • residents in a care home for older adults
  • individuals aged six months and over who have a weakened immune system.

Anyone eligible can book a vaccine appointment online, via the NHS App or by calling 119 for free.

Dr Kate Langford, Chief Medical Officer at NHS Kent and Medway, said: “Older adults and people with a weakened immune system are at higher risk of becoming unwell from COVID-19 and getting vaccinated is one of the best ways to protect yourself from serious illness. If you are eligible, make sure you top up your protection this spring with the COVID-19 vaccination.”

Kent County Council Director of Public Health, Dr Anjan Ghosh, said: “COVID-19 remains a serious risk for our most vulnerable residents. Given this, if you are eligible, please take up the free offer of a spring vaccination when you are contacted by the NHS over the next few weeks. It will increase your protection against the virus while lowering the chance of complications should you catch it.”

Dr David Whiting, Director of Public Health at Medway Council, said: “We know that vaccination is one of the best ways to help keep people safe from COVID, and the spring booster programme is key to protecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. I would urge anyone who is eligible to make their appointment for the spring COVID-19 booster as soon as they are able to.”
