Students across Kent will receive their GCSE results today.

Schools will let students know how to collect their results. In most instances they will be able to go to their school and collect their results in person and get advice and support from their teachers if necessary.

KCC's Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, Shellina Prendergast said: "Good luck to all students who find out their GCSE exam results today."

"I know a huge amount of effort has been put in over the past year and I am incredibly proud of our young people for completing their courses and gaining well-deserved qualifications. I also want to thank school leaders, teachers and support staff who have worked tirelessly this year to support students to fill gaps in learning created by the pandemic."

"I hope all young people who received their results today will take some time to relax and enjoy themselves for the rest of the summer. I wish them every success in the next step along their career paths."

Director of Education, Christine McInnes, said: "I want to thank our school and college leaders, and their teaching and support staff, who have pulled out all the stops to make sure students are prepared to take their exams. Not only have they supported them academically with additional study clubs before and after school and during the holidays, they have also made it a priority to support students with their emotional wellbeing and help them be more resilient."

"I also want to congratulate students for all their hard work over the past two years and I wish them good luck as they plan their next steps."

If students do not achieve the results they were hoping for, there is plenty of help and support available to help them get to find the right pathway for them. Students should speak to their schools in the first instance as staff will be able to discuss the various options available to them.

They can also find local information from The Education People on the Kent Choices website or alternatively they can seek advice from the Exam Results Helpline run by the National Careers Service.
