Kent County Council Cabinet changes

The Leader of Kent County Council (KCC) has announced changes to Cabinet responsibilities following the decision of Diane Morton to step down from her role as Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health.

Georgia Foster will move into this role, from her current role as Cabinet Member for Communities and Regulatory Services, while Richard Palmer has been appointed as Cabinet Member for Communities and Regulatory Services.

Diane’s commitment, professionalism and drive have made a real difference, and she will be sorely missed.

Leader of Kent County Council, Linden Kemkaran, said: “Diane has made an outstanding contribution during her time as Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health, and I am personally grateful for the dedication, resilience and care she has brought to one of the Council’s most demanding portfolios.

“She has led through a period of significant challenge, overseeing both adult social care and public health services, and working tirelessly to support residents, staff and providers. Diane has played an important role in addressing financial pressures, strengthening leadership within the service and helping to bring greater stability to a complex and vital area of work.

“She has also been a strong voice for Kent, ensuring that the challenges facing adult social care are clearly understood and advocating for improvements that benefit residents and providers alike.

“Diane’s commitment, professionalism and drive have made a real difference, and she will be sorely missed. I would like to thank her sincerely for everything she has done in service of Kent’s residents.”
