Kent County Council (KCC) is returning to the Kent County Show this summer to showcase how it supports residents at every stage of life and helps communities across Kent.

Taking place at the Kent Showground in Detling from 3 to 5 July 2026, the Kent County Show celebrates the very best of Kent's farming, food, countryside and communities.

KCC is back this year with its own stand, themed ‘Supporting families, shaping futures’. The theme highlights the wide range of services the council provides to help people build skills, access support and improve their wellbeing throughout their lives.

Visitors can find KCC at stand G294, where staff from across the organisation will be there for people to learn more about the wide range of services available to residents, from family support and fostering, to adult social care, libraries, skills training and community wellbeing.

Designed with families in mind, the stand will feature children's craft activities, games, giveaways and a Country Parks prize draw, alongside information about a selection of the support and services available from KCC.

Visitors can also meet KCC teams at stand G208, where Trading Standards and Community Wardens will be sharing community safety advice and highlighting how KCC helps residents to stay safe and live independently.

The council's presence at the show reflects its commitment to supporting residents throughout their lives and helping communities across Kent. Information available on the stand will showcase how KCC works with residents of all ages and local businesses to provide support, opportunities and advice when it is needed most.

The show is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Kent special, while meeting residents face-to-face and talking about the services and support available through the council.

Linden Kemkaran Leader of Kent County Council

Linden Kemkaran, Leader of KCC, said: "We are delighted to be returning to the Kent County Show, one of the county's most loved and well-attended annual events.

‘The show is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Kent special, while meeting residents face-to-face and talking about the services and support available through the council.

‘Our theme, 'Supporting families, shaping futures', reflects the work we do every day to help children get the best start in life, support adults to live independently, develop skills and employment opportunities for everyone, and strengthen our communities.

‘I would encourage anyone attending the show to come and visit us, meet our teams, take part in some fun activities, and discover more about how we are working to support residents across Kent."

About the Kent County Show

The Kent County Show attracts thousands of visitors each year and features livestock competitions, equestrian events, local food and drink producers, countryside activities, shopping, entertainment and much more.

Organisers of the Kent County Show, the Kent County Agricultural Society, are a registered charity aiming to improve agriculture, forestry, horticulture, allied industries and the breeding of livestock, and the encouragement of education and research in those areas.

The Society achieves these through the following events, the Kent County Show, the Kent Farming Conference, Farm Expo, Living Land, Heritage Transport Show and Biddenden Tractorfest. The Kent Rural Scholarship Scheme sees three agricultural students a year awarded £1,000 for each year of their degree, and a number of charitable grants are made each year to local Kent Young Farmers Clubs.

In 2023, the Kent County Agricultural Society celebrated its 100th anniversary! As it moves into its second century, the Society continues to grow both its flagship event, the Kent County Show, and it’s additional calendar of events.

All proceeds from the Kent County Show go towards achieving the Society’s charitable objectives.
