Queenborough Library and Family Hub celebrates successful reopening

Residents, community partners and local representatives came together to celebrate the reopening of Queenborough Library and Family Hub following a major refurbishment that has transformed the building into a modern, welcoming community space.

Since reopening earlier this year, Queenborough Library and Family Hub has seen a 16% increase in footfall.

The reopening event, held on Thursday 30 July, marked the completion of works that have brought library and family support services together under one roof, making it easier for local people to access information, activities and advice in the heart of the community.

Since reopening earlier this year, Queenborough Library and Family Hub has seen a 16% increase in footfall, highlighting the positive impact of the improvements and the important role the building plays within the local community.

Families and residents attending the reopening event had an opportunity to enjoy a range of activities, meet library and Family Hub staff, and find out more about the range of services, activities and support available.

‘By bringing library and Family Hub services together, we are making it easier for families to access information, advice and activities in a familiar and welcoming setting.

‘It was wonderful to see the positive response from residents at the reopening event. The increase in visitor numbers shows that the community is already embracing all that this facility has to offer."

Queenborough Library closed in January 2026 for refurbishment works as part of Kent County Council's programme of investment in library buildings across the county. The £219,900 project included creating space for Family Hub services and enhancing the library environment to support a wider range of activities and services.

The Library and Family Hub now provides residents with access to books, digital services, learning opportunities, community activities and family support services from a single location in the heart of Queenborough.
