This year £450,000 is available to go towards local schemes which provide invaluable services to residents who have difficulty accessing public transport.
The council has provided grants for community transport schemes for a number of years but this year has made additional funding available for groups to bid for to try to help communities impacted by changes to their bus service.
“We recognise how important buses are to our residents to get about and access services.”
KCC's Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, David Brazier said:
"We recognise how important buses are to our residents to get about and access services."
"The extra funding for the Community Transport Grant is designed to help groups, charities and organisations fill gaps for areas that are not covered by public transport. I would encourage anyone interested in learning more about this scheme to visit our website, where you will also find further information on how to apply."
Applications are now open and should be submitted before the deadline on 15 January 2023.
