She was joined by KCC Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, Georgia Foster, as they toured the school and saw the wide range of tailored provision that supports pupils’ learning, wellbeing, independence, and preparation for adulthood. They also learned about the school's commitment to developing pupils’ independence, communication, and life skills, helping to prepare young people for adulthood and life beyond school.
The visit also included time at King's Farm Primary School, where they saw first-hand the positive impact of inclusive practice and collaboration between the two schools.
Ifield School and King's Farm Primary School, known as The Cedar Federation are creating opportunities to share expertise, strengthen inclusion, and enhance outcomes for children and young people across both school communities and beyond.
Beverley and Georgia met with members of the School Council at both schools, hearing directly from pupils about their experiences.
The visit also highlighted The Cedar Federation’s Inreach and Outreach offer, which supports mainstream schools across the local area, including helping staff to better meet the needs of pupils with additional needs within Early Years settings.
Thank you to the pupils and staff across The Cedar Federation for the warm welcome and for showcasing the important work taking place to support children and young people.
