Updated plans to make walking and wheeling between Cheriton and Folkestone Central station safer

General view of part of the scheme site in Cheriton

Residents are being asked to share their views on updated proposals to make walking and wheeling safer between Cheriton and Folkestone Central station.

Kent County Council (KCC) is now ready to gather views of revised plans to create a safer and direct route for pedestrians and cyclists, which could run along the B2064 Cheriton Road, starting near the B2063 Risborough Lane and ending at Radnor Park.

We have listened to earlier feedback and removed our plans to close Stanley Road, take out parking spaces and remove trees.

Instead, we now plan to include a 20mph zone between Ashley Avenue and Coombe Road, a new cycle path between Cherry Garden Avenue and Radnor Park and make safety improvements to the Cherry Garden Avenue and Cheriton Road traffic signal junction.

Community drop-in sessions will be held at the Folkestone Indoor Bowls Club in Cheriton Road, Folkestone, between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday 11th July and between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday 12th July.

Visit www.kent.gov.uk/cheritonat to view the scheme design and complete the questionnaire to have your say by the closing date of Tuesday 1st August.
