Kent County Council (KCC) has announced that Kent Training & Apprenticeships (KT&A) will transition into Kent Adult Education (KAE) from the start of the 2026/27 academic year, with services continuing under a new identity, KAE Future Pathways.

As part of this change, the KT&A website will close in August 2026. From September 2026, provision including Study Programmes, Supported Internships, ESOL for 16 - 18 year olds and Traineeships will be delivered through Kent Adult Education and accessed via the KAE website.

The transition follows a decision to discontinue apprenticeship provision within KT&A, enabling a stronger strategic alignment of services and clearer progression routes for learners across Kent.

While the name and branding will change, the core purpose and commitment to supporting young people remains the same. KAE Future Pathways will continue to help learners progress into employment, further education and training, working closely with partners to provide high-quality opportunities.

Learners, parents and carers can be reassured that this transition will not affect those currently enrolled. All courses will continue as planned, support arrangements will remain in place, and there will be no change to the delivery or learning experience. The main difference learners will notice is that their provision will now be referred to as KAE Future Pathways and information will be accessed via the Kent Adult Education website.

There is no action required from learners, parents or carers at this stage, and further updates will be shared where needed. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Kent Adult Education through its usual channels.

Beverley Fordham, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “This change represents an important step in strengthening how we support young people across Kent.

‘By bringing these programmes together under Kent Adult Education, we are making it easier for learners and families to find clear, up-to-date information and access the opportunities available to them. It also helps create more joined-up pathways between education, training and employment, so young people can progress with confidence.

‘This is also an exciting opportunity to further develop and improve our service, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our learners and provide the best possible support for their future ambitions.”

Kent Adult Education looks forward to welcoming both current and future learners to KAE Future Pathways and continuing to support residents across the county to achieve their ambitions.
